Going once… Going twice… Gone.

It finally happened. I sold of Paludarium 1.0 to a nice person who is going to refit it for keeping poison dart frogs. The cabinet underneath was already old and not that nice anymore, but he gladly took it with him to patch it up.

Empty spaces

No now the fairy story of the four eyed fish living in a piece of jungle inside our living room has come to an end. The realtime-statistics page (at realtime.paluweb.nl) has been shutdown and redirects to this page. The virtual machine that was running the controlling section has been powered off. My living room now has more space. It is a strange feeling that it is now all gone.

On to Paludarium 2.0

Up first: We need to put in new flooring and resurface the walls. After that, I can start building out Paludarium 2.0… Which is what this website is all about anyway! We are slowly planning how it all should look like. I am so happy with all the support from my wife: She is also very eager to have our little four eyed friends with us once again soon.

It looks like we will be using some kitchen parts to build the new cabinet under Paludarium 2.0. We will then extend that cabinet with a lower section to house the TV set. This should blend things in nicely.

So building Paludarium 2.0 is now going to be a quest for design, technology, finance and working hours. A delicate balance, in which I will hopefully be able to build me a new home for the foureyes within six months, that has the technology I want without breaking the bank.
